Jan-Baptist Lemaire

Jan-Baptist Lemaire is a Belgian LL.M. student at Yale Law School (Class of 2022) and a Ph.D. Candidate at KU Leuven (Belgium) and for the Research Foundation Flanders. His Ph.D. research deals with the judicial review of discretion, in corporate and administrative law. He was written about climate change litigation from the perspective of reasonableness standards and the separation of powers - a recent blog post can be found here. Jan-Baptist is also a rapporteur for the European Union in the Peer Review Network of Climate Litigation at the Sabin Center, Columbia University. 

Before coming to Yale, Jan-Baptist was a full-time teaching and research assistant at the Centre for Methodology of Law, KU Leuven (Belgium), and a visiting researcher at the University of Utrecht(Netherlands). He studied law at KU Leuven and Humboldt University Berlin (Germany) and obtained a bachelor’s degree in philosophy at KU Leuven.
